Catholic Schools Week 2015

This nationwide, week-long celebration focuses on all aspects of Catholic education.  This year we are focusing on faith, knowledge and service.  Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School will celebrate with multiple fun activities and events for students, parents, teachers, and clergy.

Our caring, qualified and experienced teachers assist students as they grow in their faith and develop into young people of good moral character.  Instruction provides and supports the skills necessary for academic excellence, as evidenced by excellent achievement on state exams. Classes include Nursery, Pre-K (Full and Half-Day) and Grades K-8.  Each year graduating OLQM students gain admission and scholarships to Catholic High School honors programs and specialized NYC high schools.

Our facility boasts a fully-equipped Computer Lab, SMART Board Technology, remedial resource services as well as library, music, art, foreign language and physical education programs for all students in grades PK-8. Extracurricular activities include, but are not limited to: After School Program until 6:30PM staffed by teachers and assistants, a Before School Program, Band opened to Grades 3-8, Monthly School Liturgies and Prayer Services, CYO Basketball Programs for various grades, and an Annual Talent Show.

Check back often to our website and our Facebook page for posts about upcoming events!

Option C Email and Alert System

Recently two notifications were sent out through the Option C parent alert system. If you did not receive an email notification of the weather related NUT day and/or a 9/15/13 email indicating a change in our gr. 5 teacher it is because there is not an email address listed on your Option C account or you have not selected email as an emergency notification preference. This year most mass emails will be sent through Option C, rather than echalk (this system). We are trying to move away from echalk to save costs, and because it is our diocesan required attendance and academic system. Therefore, it is the one system all registered families are entered into. Although our school office inputs mandatory information we do not put in secondary information or determine if you want email, voice and/or text notifications. Families are strongly encouraged to select email as a preference. Keep in mind that texts are limited to a number of characters and voice messages rely on your access to the phone number(s) listed. You may select as many, or as few, alert preferences as you wish. Directions on the Option C system may be viewed by selecting Option C Information on the left side of the echalk home screen. If you have designated an email account as a preference and are still not getting the emails, please check your spam folder.

Parent Email Alerts Updated
We are pleased to announce that the parent email alerts for homework are now sent at 4PM.  For those of you who have not yet registered on the website please follow the directions below.
Parents are now able to sign up for email alerts from their child's class page.  You will be able to receive emails every time your child's teacher updates the class website.  Logon to the link below or go to the Parent Tab on the homepage, enter your email address and follow the prompts to create your profile. Once you register with the website we will be able to send mass emails about important school information as well.

Just one more way for us to stay connected!

Don't forget to use the password that is emailed to you to choose your preferences.  You won't receive emails if you don't log in at least once!
